UNILAG Disclaimer On Allegedly Increment In Adjusted UNILAG Obligatory Fees
The University of Lagos, Akoka Yaba popularly known as UNILAG has debunked the claims going viral on various social media that the University of Lagos Management has allegedly added additional charges to its earlier increased fees.
This clarification came in after some groups of persons circulated the misleading claim that the University has slammed an additional increment o its student for the 2024-2025 academic session which would begin in September.
The claim was debunked to avoid doubts and unnecessary uproar amongst the students of the University of Lagos as there was a recent increase in the UNILAG school fees amidst the economic challenges and difficulty being faced in the country.
UNILAG Management made it known through an official press release through Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, its Head of Communication Unit on Friday, August 18, 2024. The university said in a publication published on UNILAG Official website title: Flash News Bulletin (Vol. MMXXIII, No. 80), that the University management is fully aware of unfavorable economic hardship faced in the country and that UNILAG has not issued any notice on increment of Obligatory fees proposed for the 2024-2025 academic calendar for both New and Returning students of the University.
The University Management is aware of the need for dissemination of accurate, timely and verifiable information, and frowns at the spread of untrue information as it goes against the University standard and guidelines thereby leaving its integrity at stake.
The University of Lagos thereby urged the students and members of the University Community not to take any information not contained on its official website seriously, and that they should only rely on verified channels through which the University announces it programs, notices, and other information regarding the University.
UNILAG Toxicology Test Schedule For 2023/2024 Fresh Students
The University of Lagos [UNILAG] has released its screening for toxicology test schedule for 2024-2025 Academic Session for fresh students and each batch is advised to adhere to the date allocated for her.
The UNILAG toxicology test for 2024-2025 Academic Session for fresh students is scheduled to commence on Monday, 14th of August and end on Friday, 8th of September 2024 starting from 9:00 a.m. daily. Venue for UNILAG toxicology test is at the UNILAG’S Tolulope Odugbemi Hall (Staff School Hall).
UNILAG toxicology test is scheduled as follows:
- Mondays are students from the Faculties of Arts and Engineering
- Tuesday are for students from the Faculties of Law and Science
- Wednesday are for students from the Faculties of Pharmacy, Environmental Science & College of Medicine
- Thursdays are for students from the Faculties of Management Sciences and Social Sciences
- Fridays are for students from the Faculty of Education

The amount required by all students for UNILAG toxicology test is N10,000 Naira. Students are to generate toxicology test invoice from the official UNILAG website.

UNILAG School Fees for 2024-2025 Academic Session (UNILAG Obligatory Fees)
The University of Lagos has announced the school fees for the 2024-2025 Academic Session as there was an increase in the Obligatory fees and hostel fees for both new and returning students and below is the UNILAG school fees breakdown.
1. College of Medicine = N190,250 Naira
2. Science = N140,250 Naira
3. Non Science = N100,750 Naira
Kindly note that UNILAG school can be paid in installments on the school portal as for Non Science school fees is divided into N70,125 (minimum for registration).
UNILAG Utility Charge: N20,000
Unilag Hostel Fees 2024-2025
The University of Lagos has increased her hostel fees from N25,000 Naira being paid to about N100,000 Naira. UNILAG hostel fees for the 2023/2024 Academic Session is as follows:
Unilag Sodeinde hostel = N180,000 Naira
Unilag other hostel = N80,000 Naira
UNILAG Resumption Date for 2024-2025 Academic Session (UNILAG Academic Calender)
